Paris is the prefect place to buy perfumes, jewellery, cosmetics, clothes, wines and other gastronomical products (there are more than 20 weekly markets). The most exclusive clothes shops can be found in the octavo quarter (on both sides of the Champs-Élysées). In the amazing flea market, there are more than 3,000 stalls selling second-hand items and antiques (Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays). Lastly, dedicate an afternoon to wander around the famous Lafayette galleries (40, boulevard Hausmann). One of the most modern centres is the Forum des Halles (for top brands in clothes and food stuff on three underground floors).

- Createurs Goutte D'Or is a shopping centre that is home to the creations of 13 exclusive European, Asian and American designers, of which Marcia de Carvalho, Pierina Marinelli and Dominique Petris, amongst others, are the most outstanding. It can be found at 4, rue des Gardes 75018. The boutique of Chanel is at 29-31 rue Chambón 75001, of Jean Paul Gaultier at 30 rue Faubourg St Antoine 75012 and that of Kenzo at 3 place des Victoires 75001.
- La Fayette Galleries is one of the most famous places to go shopping in Paris. It is the only departmental store where it is possible to find clothes by Armani, Chanel, John Galliano, Jean Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, Prada, and Sonia Rykiel. There is also exclusive clothes for men as well as two exquisite restaurants. It can be found at 40, boulevard Haussmann 75009 and opens from Monday to Saturday from 10am. to 7:30pm. Madelios has 5,000m2 of men's shops. It is at 23, boulevard de la Madeleine and opens from Monday to Saturday from 10am.
- There are many flea markets in Paris, where you can find anything and everything. The St. Ouen Flea Market is the city's oldest. Open every Saturday, Sunday and Monday there are a great many antiques on sale, from Louis XV chairs to silver spoons and lamps. There are also clothes and trousers from the Second World War. The Parisian market de la Création is located at the bottom of the Montparnase Tower. Paintings, sketches, sculptures, ceramics and photographs are sold by their own makers. It is open every Sunday from 10 in the morning and can be found near the Edgar Quinet metro station. The Place Georges Brassens in the rue Brancion is the location of the famous Book Market, considered by many to be the best place to find second-hand books. It is open on the weekends and it is best to get there early. It is near the Porte de Vanves metro station.
